Anime enters Seabed Temple Arc

This year's 32nd issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed on Monday that Megumi Han (Hunter × Hunter's Gon, DEVILMAN crybaby's Miki Makimura) is joining cast of the television anime adaptation of Yūki Tabata's Black Clover manga as Kahono. The anime will soon enter the Seabed Temple Arc of Tabata's original manga.

Kumi Koda (The Law of Ueki, Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse, Final Fantasy X-2) is performing the new opening theme song "Guess Who Is Back" for the anime, and the all-female dance and vocal group FAKY (Cardfight!! Vanguard: Legion Mate-Hen, Gundam Build Fighters: Battlogue) are performing the ending theme song "four." Both songs will debut in the 40th episode, which will air on July 10.

The anime premiered in Japan last October. Crunchyroll is streaming the series in Japanese with English subtitles, and Funimation is streaming the show's English dub. The anime's website lists the anime for a full year with 51 episodes.

Tatsuya Yoshihara (Monster Musume, Yatterman Night, Muromi-san, Long Riders!) is directing the anime at Studio Pierrot. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Is the order a rabbit?, Tantei Opera Milky Holmes, Yatterman Night) is handling the series composition. Itsuko Takeda (Ristorante Paradiso, Level E, Blue Drop) is the character designer and Kumiko Tokunaga (2nd season of Kingdom) is the sub-character designer. Kosei Takahashi (key animation for Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, Monster Hunter Stories RIDE ON) is the prop designer, Aiko Shinohara (Fairy Tail, The Heroic Legend of Arslan) is handling the color design, and Minako Seki (The Silver Guardian, both seasons of Kingdom) is composing the music.

The show debuted on Adult Swim's Toonami programming block on December 2.
